Help identify the exotic species of the month by cracking this riddle.

I am small and sharp with two halves,
My shell has light and dark bands,
I like to cause problems in lakes,
Attaching onto boats, rocks, and plants just feels great,
I keep everyone guessing where I'll invade next.
