Internet Specialist

Angela Archer

As the internet specialist, Angela plays a crucial role in the creation and maintenance of the IISG website and IISG's supporting programmatic websites. With her focus on programming, she specializes in Javascript and XML languagues, and their applicability to enhance usage of the program websites. Her current project websites include:

• Nab the Aquatic Invader - a website devoted in the education of students, k-15, in the control of aquatic invasive species
• Illinois Aquatic Nuisance Species - a source for citizens and governmental officials to learn about crucial invasive species that are found in Illinois or are in close proximity of Illinois waters.
• Local Decision Maker - a GIS-based web site that provides inventory and analysis for comprenshive planning in the Indiana.
  

Angela has been honored for her work on "Nab the Aquatic Invader" earning a Gold Award and an Outstanding Professional Skill Award from the Association of Communication Excellence. "Nab the Aquatic Invader" was also honored by the Great Lakes Sea Grant Network as a great example of web-based outreach.

She also assists the Communication staff in special projects such as copyright issues and publication formats.
